They are seeking a Structural (Bridge) CAD Designer/Drafter to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on the detailed design of transportation structures and providing superior customer experience. Responsibilities - Collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff in the development of detailed design contract packages - Assistance to project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of transportation structures - Completion of detailed design drafting for a variety of project types - Application of 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and other specialty programs to produce design drawings - Preparation of construction drawings/documents - Calculation of quantity take-offs for concrete volumes, reinforcement, and miscellaneous steel for complex structures - Assistance with contract administration tasks including construction observation, shop drawing review, contractor submittal review, progress payment preparation, and responding to requests for information - Coordination and completion of site assessments, construction observation and construction management of site documentation - Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request - A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development - A commitment to career development supported by senior drafters and engineers with 20+ years of experience - Opportunity to enroll in Dillon’s early career development program Skills - Diploma program from an accredited Architectural or Engineering Technologist Program, or equivalent - 0-5 Years of experience in the engineering consulting industry - Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills - Highly organized and detail oriented - Proficient use of current AutoCAD and/or Revit software - Knowledge of Civil 3D - Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial/industry engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements - Understanding of the range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration Benefits - Employee share purchase plan - Comprehensive health benefits - Generous retirement savings plan - Student loan repayment assistance with matching employer contributions - Flexible work hours and hybrid working options - Learning and Development opportunities - Employee and Family Assistance program - Goodlife Fitness Corporate Membership - Wellness Subsidy Company Overview - Dillon is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned, professional consulting firm with over 1,100 employees specializing in planning, engineering, environmental science and management.
