Role Overview – Customer Delivery Consulting Engineer (Data Center) The Customer Delivery Consulting Engineer – Data Center sits at the heart of our Customer Experience (CX) organization. In this role you will combine deep technical expertise with consultative acumen to design, implement, and validate complex data‑center and enterprise networking solutions for our U.S. Government customers. You will work on‑site at our Ft. Meade, MD campus three to four days per week, collaborating with internal engineers, customers, and partners to deliver business‑critical services that meet the highest security standards. Key Impact Areas - Design end‑to‑end network architectures that align with customer business objectives and compliance requirements. - Produce high‑quality documentation—including High‑Level Designs (HLD), Low‑Level Designs (LLD), and Acceptance Test Plans (ATP)—that serve as the blueprint for successful deployments. - Act as the trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through risk mitigation, technology adoption, and performance optimization. - Collaborate closely with arenaflex engineering teams to influence product roadmaps and bring customer feedback into the innovation loop. - Lead multi‑disciplinary teams (arenaflex staff, customer personnel, and partner engineers) to troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated network issues. Core Responsibilities - Architectural Design: Develop comprehensive HLD and LLD documents for data‑center and enterprise networking solutions, incorporating technologies such as VXLAN, OTV, EVPN, MPLS, BGP, and Segment Routing. - Solution Validation: Create and execute Acceptance Test Plans (ATP) to verify that designs meet functional, performance, and security criteria before hand‑off. - Customer Consultation: Conduct discovery workshops, present technical recommendations, and translate complex networking concepts into clear business value propositions. - Technical Leadership: Lead cross‑functional troubleshooting sessions, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices in network design and operations. - Collaboration with Product Teams: Provide real‑world insights to arenaflex product managers and engineers, influencing enhancements that solve emerging customer challenges. - Security Compliance: Ensure all design and implementation activities adhere to U.S. Government security policies, TS/SCI clearance requirements, and classified environment protocols. - Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate documentation, streamline testing procedures, and boost overall delivery efficiency. Essential Qualifications - U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance (or current SCI eligibility). - Minimum six (6) years of proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco data‑center and enterprise networking solutions. - Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. - Demonstrated ability to produce clear, detailed technical documentation (HLD, LLD, ATP). - Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of diagnosing and resolving complex network issues. - Willingness and ability to work on‑site in Ft. Meade, MD, 3‑4 days per week. Preferred Qualifications & Experience - Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP‑DC) and/or CCNP‑EN certifications. - Hands‑on experience with data‑center overlay technologies such as VXLAN, OTV, and EVPN. - Deep expertise in routing and switching platforms: Cisco IOS‑XE, NX‑OS, Catalyst, Nexus, and ACI. - Proficiency with MPLS, MPLS‑TE, BGP (including MBGP, iBGP), IS‑IS, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, IPv6, IP‑SLAs, MST, PIM, DMVPN, GETVPN, NetFlow, vPC, FabricPath, and STP. - Experience leading multi‑vendor teams (arenaflex, customer, and partner) through complex problem resolution. - Ability to articulate a forward‑looking vision that inspires change and drives technology adoption. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
