Job Summary
Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of secure cloud environments across AWS and Azure platforms. This is a remote role ideal for professionals who are passionate about cloud-native security, threat mitigation, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with cloud engineering, DevOps, and security operations teams to ensure robust protection of infrastructure and data.
Key Responsibilities

Architect, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.
• *
Design and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, network security, and incident response.
• *
Evaluate and integrate cloud-native security tools such as AWS Security Hub, Azure Defender, and third-party solutions like Prisma Cloud, Qualys, etc.
• *
Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, policies, and standards.
• *
Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities in the cloud architecture.
• *
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure secure DevOps (DevSecOps) practices.
• *
Monitor cloud environments for security misconfigurations, unauthorized access, and anomalies.
• *
Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA.
• *
Lead or support security audits, penetration testing, and remediation efforts.
• *
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior security engineers and architects.
• Required Skills and Qualifications
• *
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• *
Proven experience (5+ years) as a Cloud Security Architect, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
• *
Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS and Azure security services and architecture.
• *
Strong understanding of IAM, VPC security, Key Management Services, Firewalls, SIEM, and Data Loss Prevention.
• *
Industry certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
• *
Solid grasp of security standards and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• *
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Terraform, or CloudFormation).
• *
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• *
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience

Minimum: 5 years in cloud security or cybersecurity roles.
• *
Preferred: Experience working in multi-cloud environments and implementing Zero Trust Architecture.
• *
Experience working with international teams and cloud operations at enterprise scale is a strong plus.
• Working Hours

Full-Time | Remote
• *
Flexible hours with overlap required during core business hours (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST).

Occasional availability for global team meetings in overlapping time zones (as needed).
