Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Part-Time Remote Kitchen General Help and Food Preparation Assistant to join our team. As a Kitchen General Help, you will play a vital role in the preparation and distribution of meals to service units, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work well under pressure will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables according to the preparation schedule, ensuring that all produce is handled and stored safely.
- Prepare, cook, or pan food as per the prep schedule, following recipes and guidelines to maintain high-quality standards.
- Count, weigh, and measure ingredients for assigned food production areas, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Portion meal trays and special diet trays as per the meal schedule, ensuring that all meals are prepared and delivered on time.
- Load, deliver, collect, and unload meal service carts to the pods, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including carts, trolleys, dishes, and pots, to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly manner, ensuring that all equipment and products are handled and stored safely.
- Work efficiently and handle all equipment and products safely, following health and safety guidelines and protocols.
- Cash register operations and meal ticket procedures, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and efficient.
- Perform other duties during off-service hours as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management in a suitable timeframe, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Essential Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in food preparation and customer service.
