General Summary
The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a positive account relationship with assigned national customers and functioning as a liaison between Deckorators plants and the assigned national customers in order to increase sales and profits.
Works under general direction; exercises discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis; and a significant degree of creativity is expected.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Category manages product lines, ensuring success on shelf, in DC’s and in Special Order Programs. Works with merchants for alignment and execution.
- Works closely with category manager to use data to drive decisions within the category.
- Executes product and pricing information from the BU in preparation for product line reviews.
- Attends meetings with assigned national customers and other national accounts as necessary to grow our business and profitability
- Implements any new business or programs with assigned national customers
- Handles merchant calls and field to the proper contacts as necessary
- Works with RSM’s and SDR’s on field requests and action plans
- Follows up on customer issues/complaints and assigned national customers
- Assists in day to day duties as required by the Vice President Retail; Deckorators
- Prepares various reports as required
- Performs other duties as required
Job Specifications
Knowledge
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years working on retail ready programs
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and other software for business applications
- Preferred manufacturing background, but not required
- Preferred experience and knowledge on UFP’s organization, culture, product lines and business systems
Skills and abilities
- Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
- Ability to successfully interact with all organizational levels and the public
- Demonstrated proficiency to manage multiple tasks, to set priorities, and to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate proficiency in general telephone and office etiquette and legible handwriting
- Demonstrated ability to be mobile in the work environment

- Ability to apply business math to manufacturing processes
- Ability to use a computer, and proficiency in the use of MS Office and other business related software
