You will be a member of the Enterprise Agile Services Department; helping to influence agile practices within our teams
and the enterprise. You will bring your experience as an Agilist to lead a cross-functional team (or teams), so they learn
and apply agile values, practices and processes that deliver business value. You will coach, teach, and mentor the team
to have open discussions and build an environment of trust. You will help them develop and leverage inspect-and-adapt
loops to continuously learn, improve and achieve real business results. The Agilist leads the to team through all the
components of high performance in pursuit of true business agility.
Work location and flexibility are subject to change based on evolving business needs, but generally, selected candidates who reside:
- within 50 miles of Headquarters may be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, combining remote and onsite work when business needs necessitate.
- more than 50 miles from Headquarters must be flexible and available to travel to Fairfield, OH, on an occasional basis for special events, training sessions, or key meetings.
To ensure active engagement in meetings, it is mandatory for all IT associates to have cameras turned on for all interactions with other associates, customers, and stakeholders. Your camera must be on and positioned correctly to clearly show your face. This practice is crucial for maintaining connection and engagement, as non-verbal cues are essential for effective communication.
Be ready to:
- guides, leads and motivates a team (or teams) to apply agile practices and processes to deliver business value
- organizes and facilitates Scrum Ceremonies
- partners with and coaches the Product Owner in agile practices
- leads/teaches agile principles/improvement utilizing at least two frameworks (For example: scrum, Kanban and Lean)
- collaborates and lends subject matter expertise to the development of agile training within the product area
- facilitates agile maturity assessment and provides recommendations to the team
- identifies and drives value-based change across department
- facilitates dependency identification, information share and collaboration with external team(s)
- champion DevOps opportunities with leadership across areas to support the product domain(s)
- utilizes knowledge of different agile frameworks to help teams determine best framework fit for their needs
- participates with resume reviews and interviews for Agilist role
- participates in the evaluation and selection of agile tools and software
- teaches/coaches agile practices across the organization
- facilitates large group settings (e.g. Open Space meetups, Lean Coffees, etc.)
- teaches/coaches new teams without experience in the framework
- provides guidance to leadership
- mentors and coaches other Agilists
Be equipped with:
- 5 or more years of Influential Leadership
- 5 or more years’ experience collaborating, facilitating, leading and coaching Agile teams in large strategic initiatives
- ability to quickly earn the trust of others, influence change, facilitate direction and approach, resolve conflicts, deliver
difficult messages with grace and act with limited information and ambiguity
- experience mentoring cross functional teams and influencing without authority
- ability to assess and communicate progress against coaching, improvement and change roadmaps
- ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbally
- communicating effectively through presentations and meeting facilitation
- organizing, planning and managing time
- leading engagements with executive-level visibility and interaction
- proven ability to lead/coach large efforts involving multiple business units and support organizations
- ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
- proven ability to lead/coach multiple initiatives
- maintaining a high sense of urgency and operating with a passion to succeed
- providing excellent customer service
- negotiating and influencing
- problem solving and critical thinking
- proficient level of experience and exposure with agile tools
- intermediate level of Microsoft® Office experience
- sound business and technical acumen
Bring education or experience from:
- familiar with leading insurance industry initiatives (highly preferred)
- familiar with leading/coaching large multi-million-dollar efforts involving multiple teams on efforts with significant business
implications across multiple areas
- experience in LEAN, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- certification in multiple agile frameworks and coaching (e.g. ICP-ACC, PSM, PSPO)
- university degree/college diploma or equivalent business experience
