Altruic Advisors is a purpose-driven CPA firm for nonprofit organizations. They are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to provide remote accounting services, perform day-to-day accounting tasks, and support nonprofit clients across the United States. Responsibilities - Support our CFO Solutions team in providing remote accounting services to nonprofit organizations across the United States - Perform time-sensitive, day-to-day accounting tasks for a wide range of nonprofit clients, including: - Entering transactions and maintaining general ledgers - Managing accounts payable - Processing payroll - Reconciling bank and credit card accounts - Communicate directly with clients and collaborate with other Altruic Advisors team members to answer questions, respond to requests, and resolve accounting issues - Provide audit support for clients, including communication with the client’s auditors and fulfilling requests for accounting records or other documentation - Establish, document, and evaluate internal processes to increase efficiency and ensure an exceptional client experience Skills - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - One year of recent accounting experience (nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required) - A strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to consistently apply GAAP principles in day-to-day accounting transactions - Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and BILL.com (or a willingness to learn) - Effective written and oral communication skills - Ability to maintain an excellent rapport with nonprofit clients - Communicates openly with managers and other team members to keep everyone informed of progress, challenges, and successes - Prefers working within a small, non-traditional firm environment - Detail-oriented and a strong critical thinker - Proactive approach to problem-solving; anticipates and resolves potential issues before they escalate - Takes ownership of tasks and seeks out solutions independently - A positive attitude, outstanding client service skills, and a desire to learn and grow - Nonprofit experience Benefits - Competitive compensation and bonus opportunities - Unlimited vacation, holiday, and personal time - Up to 40 hours of paid volunteer time per year - Health insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA) - Dental insurance - Vision insurance - Short-term disability insurance - 401(k) with employer match - Continuing professional education - Professional dues reimbursement Company Overview - Altruic Advisors provides cloud accounting, fraud prevention, audit, CFO, and consultation services to various nonprofit organizations.
