Position Summary:
The Senior Sales Manager- Private Label & Convenience/Foodservice West provides strategic leadership and executional excellence to drive sales growth across the Private Label & Convenience/Foodservice West channels.
Reporting to the VP of Sales, this role manages key customer accounts to achieve company objectives in volume, market share, and profitability. The Senior Sales Manager applies an entrepreneurial mindset and data-driven approach to anticipate market trends, strengthen customer relationships, and execute innovative go-to-market strategies that expand Calbee’s presence and deliver sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Private Label Sales Management:
- Lead the development and execution of Calbee’s Private Label sales strategy across national and regional accounts to achieve Company revenue, margin, and growth objectives.
- Create mutually winning, optimized, profitable financial relationships across current customers by aligning company capabilities with customer needs and long-term business goals.
- Own full P&L responsibility for private label accounts, including pricing strategy, contract and agreement management, cost management, trade investment, and margin optimization.
- Partner cross-functionally with Calbee Global Operations, Finance, Pricing, Facilities, and Marketing to deliver large-scale initiatives and improved commercial performance.
Convenience and Foodservice Sales Management:
- Support West territory sales for Convenience and Foodservice Customers, driving accelerated growth and market expansion.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with company goals and emerging snack trends.
- Manage Regional Broker Partners and Key Distributor Customer relationships to optimize growth
- Collaborate with marketing and innovation teams to launch better-for-you snacks and new Asian snack products from our Innovation Center.
- Position Calbee as the go-to brand for sensible, better-for-you snacking, as well as Asian snacks, while leveraging category leadership insights and differentiated product offerings.
Partnership & Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and food service partners.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across C-store, Travel, Food Service, and K-12 accounts.
Sales Planning, Forecasting & Execution:
- Monitor demand forecasts through internal software systems, execute sales initiatives, and achieve volume and trade spend targets.
- Utilize data to analyze account success, predict trends, anticipate shifts in consumer behavior, to create actionable sales forecasts.
- Drive category growth, market penetration, and brand presence in assigned geography.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Collaborate with internal marketing, operations, and data teams to deliver integrated customer strategies.
- Lead, mentor, and hold Regional Broker Partners accountable for achieving company objectives.
- Create and deliver data-driven presentations to customers and stakeholders.
Forecasting & Business Planning
- Partner with Finance and Operations teams on shipment, consumption, trade spend, and trend forecasts.
- Leverage market, category, and sales data to anticipate shifts, predict trends, and inform proactive business decisions.
- Deliver data-driven insights and updates via regular retail recaps.
- Drive continuous improvements to meet the needs of a high-growth, innovation-driven business.
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 10 years of successful Senior Management experience in CPG Private label program development including sourcing, procurement, logistics and operational management.
- Global sourcing and supplier management experience in Asia, Europe, and the US. Work experience within international logistics coordination, supply continuity and manufacturing management responsibility roles.
- Domestic and Global contract management and negotiation experience at Senior Management level.
- Experience within C-store, Food Service, and Alternative Channels, including working with wholesalers and retailers.
- Proven track record of driving year-over-year sales growth and managing premium accounts.
- Strong strategic planning, execution, forecasting, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication skills; able to thrive in a cross-functional and multicultural environment.
- Results-driven, self-starter with high energy, urgency, and a passion for delivering exceptional outcomes.
- Experience in the snacks category is a plus.
- Proficiency with syndicated data tools (Spins, IRI, Nielsen, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a home-office environment with frequent travel (up to 50%) across assigned regions.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate customer schedules, sales calls, meetings, and business deadlines.
