Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Pre-Primary to Grade 5 Author to craft engaging, educational, and age-appropriate content for young learners. In this role, you will develop compelling stories, lesson materials, and curriculum resources that inspire curiosity, foster literacy and numeracy skills, and support holistic childhood development. Your creative storytelling combined with educational expertise will help shape the minds of future generations and make learning an exciting adventure for children from early childhood through elementary grades. Responsibilities
• Create original, engaging stories and educational content tailored to Pre-Primary through Grade 5 students, ensuring age-appropriate language and themes.
• Develop curriculum materials that align with educational standards across literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
• Collaborate with educators to design lesson plans that incorporate storytelling techniques, learning technology tools, and differentiated instruction strategies.
• Proofread and edit all written content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Incorporate best practices in childhood development, special education needs—including working with children with autism—and early intervention strategies into your writing.
• Mentor fellow writers or educators on effective storytelling techniques, classroom management approaches, and curriculum integration methods.
• Stay informed about current trends in early childhood education, Montessori methods, library services, and standardized testing to produce relevant content that supports diverse learning environments.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in classroom teaching or curriculum development within early childhood or elementary education settings.
• Strong writing skills with a portfolio demonstrating engaging stories or educational materials for children from Pre-Primary to Grade 5.
• Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management best practices.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools used in modern classrooms as well as traditional teaching methods such as Montessori or library services.
• Experience working with students with diverse needs including special education or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to proofread meticulously while maintaining a lively and motivating tone suitable for young learners’ engagement.
• Prior experience in private school environments or early childhood education programs is preferred but not required. Pay: $24.71 - $56.00 per hour
