Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Host / Maitre D at Prime & Provisions, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences: Make an excellent first impression by warmly greeting guests with eye contact and a smile, informing them of wait times and seating options, and confidently escorting them to their table.
- Managing Guest Flow: Maximize guest count by controlling the flow of guests in the restaurant and adjusting seating plans accordingly.
- Providing Excellent Customer Service: Answer and make telephone calls with enthusiasm and polish, providing direction and resolution to all patron inquiries.
- Menu Knowledge: Become well-versed in our menu items to field questions and make recommendations with a personal touch.
- Observing Guest Needs: Observe guests' needs throughout their experience to ensure they receive high-quality service and make note of guest preferences and requests for future reference.
- Maintaining a Welcoming Environment: Control the appearance of the entryway and coat check area, ensuring the area is presentable, clean, and organized.
- Developing Fellow Hosts: Assist in the development of fellow hosts by modeling desired behaviors and coaching them on performance.
- Creating a Lasting Impression: Create a lasting, positive impression by bidding guests a fond farewell upon their departure and extending a sincere invitation for their return.
- Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful as a Lead Host / Maitre D at Prime & Provisions, you will need:
- 2+ Years of Experience: 2+ years of experience as a host or in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining establishment or high-volume restaurant.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent working knowledge of booking systems and strategies, with experience with Open Table preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to carry on a pleasant conversation with guests without sounding scripted or intrusive.
- Composure Under Pressure: Ability to maintain composure under periods of high stress and high volume.
- Passion for Quality: A passion for quality and respect for team members and guests.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Demands: Ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, stand or walk for an extended period, or for an entire work shift.
