Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Remote Medical Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a healthcare advocate and community liaison, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our members receive the care and support they need. Your primary responsibility will be to act as an advocate for our members, serving as a liaison between our health plan and providers to ensure availability and access to care. Key Responsibilities Establish a community presence to promote member education and identify potential access barriers to care Receive and respond to member complaints and formal grievances, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Investigate and resolve access and cultural sensitivity issues identified by member services staff, state staff, providers, advocacy organizations, and recipients Participate in local community organizations to acquire knowledge and insight regarding the special healthcare needs of our members Update and revise educational materials as appropriate to ensure that our members have access to the most up-to-date information Serve as the primary contact for member advocacy groups, human services agencies, and state entities Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines, ensuring that our members' personal and medical information is protected Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent 3 years of customer service experience in a healthcare environment Medicare and/or Medicaid experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish preferred Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess the following preferred qualifications: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment Knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws, including HIPAA Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent customer service skills : ability to provide exceptional service to our members, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner Strong communication skills : ability to communicate effectively with our members, providers, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing Ability to work in a team environment : ability to collaborate with other team members to achieve common goals and objectives Problem-solving skills : ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner Cultural competence : ability to work with diverse populations, including those with limited English proficiency Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
