Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lot Attendant to assist with equipment maintenance, customer service, and overall lot operations. Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it is in excellent condition, including checking fluid levels and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist customers with equipment rentals, returns, and other services, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Use smartphone-based technology to manage rentals and inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer transactions.
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers, ensuring safe and secure transportation of equipment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University, staying up-to-date on the latest equipment maintenance techniques and customer service best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including filling propane and driving a forklift (certification offered through U-Haul upon employment).

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

Essential Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide exceptional service to customers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs, assisted or unassisted.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in equipment maintenance or a related field.
• Knowledge of U-Haul equipment and services.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on efficiency and productivity.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with smartphone-based technology.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields. The physical demands of this role include long periods of remaining stationary, moving around indoors and outdoors, positioning yourself to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs, assisted or unassisted.
