Experienced Customer Service Representative for Dynamic Call Center Environment – Delivering Exceptional Support and Solutions to Diverse Client Base

Job Overview In this full-time role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support via multiple channels, including phone, fax, e-Commerce, and in-person interactions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for taking orders, answering questions, handling complaints, and troubleshooting problems in a professional and empathetic manner. Key Responsibilities Assist internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner, maintaining a positive attitude and demeanor at all times. Receive requests from various sources and complete necessary processes for equipment services, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery. Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information, and diffusing angry or frustrated customers as needed. Provide customers with accurate and up-to-date product and service information, addressing their questions and concerns in a knowledgeable and helpful way. Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, verifying medical necessity, insurance coverage, and physician orders for all insurance-assigned services. Follow established policies and work instructions to ensure the Billing Department has the correct paperwork to complete insurance claims, meeting or exceeding department metrics while providing excellent customer service. Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may complement client needs, as applicable, and perform other duties as assigned by management. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and have at least 6 months of relevant customer service experience. You should be professional, proactive, and positive, with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Additional requirements include: Customer service orientation and a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Attention to detail and good data entry skills, with proficiency in computers and strong typing skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple requests simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a call center or customer-facing environment, with a proven track record of providing exceptional customer service and support. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor sources for equipment, as well as experience with medical equipment or related products. Strong sales or upselling skills, with the ability to make recommendations for products or services that meet client needs. Physical Demands The physical demands of this role are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to: Sit, talk, and hear, with frequent typing and computer work. Stand and walk occasionally, lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs. (50 lbs. for retail). Work in a safe manner, with close vision abilities required for computer work and other tasks.
