The Director of Marketing Data & Analytics is a hybrid leadership role responsible for architecting secure, HIPAA-compliant tracking infrastructures while managing a dedicated technical data analyst. Serving as the agency's chief data storyteller, this expert will also transform complex marketing data into clear, actionable narratives that drive campaign optimization and ROI for private-equity-backed healthcare clients. Description Job Overview Strategy Collective is seeking a data-driven, strategic, and highly analytical senior leader to join our team as the Director of Marketing Data & Analytics. This role is twofold: first, you will act as the principal architect of our marketing data analytics setup and infrastructure. Second, you will lead the advanced analysis of that data, ensuring we capture the right information and tell a clear, actionable data story to optimize multi-location healthcare marketing campaigns. You will not be building this alone. You will manage and mentor an existing, highly capable Marketing Data Analyst who currently handles a significant portion of our day-to-day analytics infrastructure work, integrations, and GTM setups. Your role is to set the architectural vision, ensure rigorous compliance, oversee execution, and handle the most complex technical escalations. The ideal candidate is a technical expert capable of designing complex integrations and secure tracking implementations. Just as importantly, you are our chief data storyteller. A current challenge we face is that our dashboards can feel like a hodgepodge of charts; you will be responsible for translating this data into cohesive, automated narratives that deliver clear, ROI-focused insights for our private-equity-backed healthcare clients. As a senior leader, you must be adept at integrating AI into your workflow and possess a deep understanding of secure, HIPAA-compliant tracking. You will work cross-functionally with account strategists, digital marketing teams, and C-level stakeholders, ensuring that marketing data not only informs decisions but serves as a competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities Marketing Data Infrastructure & Setup - Architect & Oversee the Infrastructure: Lead the overarching strategy and architecture for Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and custom event tagging, directing your Marketing Data Analyst in the day-to-day execution and maintenance. - Architect Secure, HIPAA-Compliant Tracking: Design and deploy highly secure tracking infrastructures utilizing server-side tagging, GTM server container insertion, and data redaction protocols to ensure strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines while maintaining marketing visibility. - Direct Complex Integrations: Oversee your team's work on integrations with other analytics tools and third-party systems, including call tracking software (e.g., CallRail, Liine) and CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce). - Ensure Closed-Loop Tracking: Build and maintain seamless data integrations back to ad platforms (specifically Google Ads, StackAdapt, and Meta) for precise conversion tracking and offline conversion uploads. - Master NinjaCat Reporting: Serve as the agency’s subject matter expert on NinjaCat (our core reporting platform, similar to Looker Studio), guiding the structural buildout of scalable, automated marketing analytics dashboards. Advanced Analysis & Data Storytelling - Tell the Data Story: Transform our analytics dashboards from a disjointed "hodgepodge of charts" into a clear, cohesive narrative. Translate complex data into an actionable story that executives and stakeholders can immediately understand. - Ensure Data Relevance: Continuously audit our analytics frameworks to ensure we are capturing the right data to inform strategic marketing decisions, identifying tracking gaps and eliminating noise. - AI Integration: Champion the use of AI tools in your daily analytical workflow to accelerate data processing, surface hidden insights, and streamline reporting. - Own Multi-Touch Attribution: Track and measure conversion pathways, providing visibility into marketing's exact contribution to new patient acquisition and optimizing marketing spend allocation. - Campaign Optimization: Partner with paid media teams to improve search impression share, lower CAC, and increase ROAS through highly targeted data feedback loops. Leadership & Strategy - Manage & Mentor Technical Talent: Directly manage our existing Marketing Data Analyst. Guide their daily work on GTM setups, platform integrations, and infrastructure maintenance, while actively QAing their output and mentoring them to elevate their technical skills and strategic thinking. - Drive Data Strategy: Own the overarching marketing data strategy for our private-equity-backed, multi-location healthcare clients. - Act as a Trusted Advisor: Collaborate with account strategists, paid media specialists, and SEO teams to define and optimize marketing KPIs and reduce data silos across client accounts. What You Bring to the Table Technical & Analytical Expertise - Infrastructure Mastery: Advanced, hands-on knowledge of GA4, GTM, custom event tracking setups, and API integrations (so you can effectively lead, troubleshoot, and QA the work of your analyst). - Healthcare Privacy & Server-Side Expertise: Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding marketing data capture, with proven experience executing server-side tagging and GTM server container deployments. - Reporting Platform Expertise: Expert proficiency with NinjaCat (or similar tools like Looker Studio)—ability to build, customize, and optimize advanced narrative-driven reports. - Integration Knowledge: Strong understanding of marketing data integrations with CRMs, call tracking platforms, and offline conversion tracking feeding back into Google Ads. - AI Workflow Proficiency: Adept at integrating AI tools into analytical workflows to enhance efficiency and insight generation. - Bonus Technical Skills: Strong foundation in SQL, Python, or R for advanced marketing data analysis is a strong plus. Leadership & Business Acumen - 8+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with at least 4 years in a leadership/senior role within an agency or multi-location healthcare environment. - People Management Experience: Proven track record of directly managing, delegating to, and mentoring technical data/analytics team members. - Exceptional Data Storytelling: A proven track record of taking complex data and translating it into simple, compelling business cases for executive leadership. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with account strategists, media buyers, and senior executives to drive data-informed marketing decisions. - Environment Fit: Experience thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably within a private-equity-backed organization.
