FieldAI is building robotic systems that operate in the real world — not the lab. Our mapping systems generate large-scale 3D scan data that must meet extremely high standards before reaching customers.
We’re looking for a Data QA & Mapping Technician to ensure the quality, accuracy, and usability of our 3D mapping outputs. This role focuses on inspecting, cleaning, and aligning scan data using professional tools, working closely with engineering teams to maintain high standards across all deliverables.
What You'll Do:
• Perform QA/QC on large-scale 3D scan and point cloud datasets
• Inspect, clean, and align mapping outputs using 3D processing tools
• Validate data quality prior to customer delivery
• Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or errors in scan data
• Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Help improve QA workflows and data handling processes
• Maintain high standards for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
What You Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience with data validation, QA/QC, or technical data workflows
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in complex datasets
• Comfort working with technical tools and learning new software quickly
• Ability to debug issues across data and software systems
• Strong communication and ability to work cross-functionally
What Sets You Apart:
• Experience with 3D data, point clouds, or mapping workflows
• Familiarity with tools like CloudCompare, Faro Scene, Leica Cyclone, or similar
• Exposure to LiDAR, scanning systems, or spatial data
• Basic scripting (Python or similar) for automation
• Experience in construction tech, surveying, or geospatial workflows
Compensation and Benefits
Our salary range is between ($70,000 - $300,000 annual), but we take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary; base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Also, while we enjoy being together on-site, we are open to exploring a hybrid or remote option.
