## About This Role We're looking for a Coordination Support Officer to strengthen gender mainstreaming across WMO's programmes, projects, and activities. This position reports to the Gender Coordinator and plays a vital role in supporting gender analyses, screenings, and technical requirements while helping WMO bodies integrate gender considerations into their work. Beyond day-to-day coordination, you'll improve organizational awareness by mapping gender-related initiatives across the WMO portfolio. This strategic overview supports more effective planning, collaboration, and resource mobilization across the organization. ## What You'll Do You'll support institutional gender mainstreaming across WMO programmes, projects and activities. This involves working with projects to conduct gender analyses and screenings, ensuring they meet WMO gender mainstreaming requirements. A key part of your role is mapping gender-related components across the WMO portfolio to strengthen organizational awareness of gender activities, opportunities and needs. You'll support WMO bodies in their gender-related activities and contribute to the design, planning, implementation and reporting of gender initiatives to ensure alignment with WMO gender mainstreaming standards, including the WMO Gender Action Plan. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining and updating gender-related website content, coordinating gender-related events, meetings and workshops, and supporting stakeholder engagement across WMO projects. ## What We're Looking For You'll need a Master's degree or equivalent in international relations, business administration, international development, gender studies or a closely related field. If you hold a first-level university degree instead, we'll consider two additional years of qualifying experience as equivalent. Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience drafting strategic frameworks or action plans, particularly within the UN system or other international organizations, is required. You should have a strong understanding of gender engagement strategies and best practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, with the ability to liaise across diverse cultures and sectors. Knowledge of other official languages of the Organization—Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish—would be an advantage. ## Compensation and Contract Terms This position is funded from extra-budgetary funding. The annual net base salary on initial appointment is US$ 43,834, with an annual post adjustment of US$ 39,670 (in addition to the net base salary), for a total annual compensation of US$ 83,504. The position comes with an initial probationary period of one year, which can be extended up to a maximum of two years. Renewal is subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
