Overview
The Center for Climate Integrity (CCI) seeks a Climate Science Intern to support the organization’s work to help communities hold oil and gas corporations accountable for the massive costs of climate change.
The Climate Science Intern will help investigate the role of oil and gas corporations in spearheading climate change research, as well as help the team understand the current state of climate change and extreme event attribution research. This part-time, remote internship will run from the end of May to August 2026 with flexible start and end dates. CCI will provide a monthly stipend of $1,500 (prorated as applicable).
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze peer-reviewed studies relevant to climate change and extreme event attribution from academic journals.
- Analyze peer-reviewed industry studies relevant to fossil fuel company accountability efforts from academic journals.
- Utilize various software programs to organize relevant peer-reviewed climate change, attribution, and industry literature according to established systems and provide support in refining these systems as necessary.
- Assist in planning and preparing internal and public-facing materials, including reports, memoranda, and other materials.
- Participate in (virtual) team meetings and collaborate with the science and research teams on strategies to further the organization’s mission.
- Interns should expect to work 25-30 hours per week on a regular schedule agreed upon with their supervisor for a period of at least 10 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Expert knowledge in climate science.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Experience reviewing, synthesizing, and analyzing peer-reviewed, academic literature.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in self-directed work and effectively manage your own time.
- Experience working with and maintaining large databases.
- Excellent communications and time management skills.
- Commitment to working as a part of a nimble, mission-driven team.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with corporate accountability and/or climate litigation.
- Experience working on collaborative research projects.
Technology Requirements
CCI is an all-remote organization, and interns will need to arrange for some of their own infrastructure and tools, including a personal computer and workspace with reliance internet connection.

Compensation and Benefits
- $1,500 per month stipend, paid at the end of each month and prorated as applicable.
- Supervision and mentoring from the Science Team.
- Letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship.
Conditions of Employment
