Account Manager (Enterprise Accounts, Fractional)

Astra Content is hiring a fractional Account Manager to own day-to-day client relationships across a portfolio of enterprise content accounts. This role is focused on client health, retention, and account growth, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders while driving renewals, upsells, and expansion opportunities. This is not a coordination role. The Account Manager is expected to operate with ownership, leading client conversations, shaping opportunities, and managing commercial decisions within defined guardrails while partnering with Astra leadership on resourcing and long-term strategy. About the Role Client Ownership & Relationship Management • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for client stakeholders across assigned accounts • Build strong, trust-based relationships and ensure consistent, high-quality communication • Own overall client health, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities • Align Astra’s delivery with evolving client needs, ensuring continued relevance and value Account Growth (Renewals, Upsell, Cross-Sell) • Own and drive project and account renewals for assigned book of business • Proactively identify and develop upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts • Expand relationships within client organizations (“multi-threading”) to unlock new opportunities • Take the lead on commercial conversations for existing business, including scope shaping and budget alignment Opportunity Management • Run client calls related to new projects or expansions within existing accounts • Gather requirements, define scope, and map needs to Astra’s offerings • Manage budget discussions, rate alignment, and feasibility • Prepare clear internal briefs for Astra leadership to support resourcing and delivery • Draft contracts and manage redlines in partnership with Astra’s internal sales operations • Work directly with client procurement teams to ensure timely kickoff of projects Delivery Alignment • Partner closely with editorial/delivery leads to ensure client expectations and delivery are aligned • Maintain visibility into active workstreams to proactively address issues • Escalate risks and ensure smooth communication between client and internal teams What Success Looks Like • The clients in your book of business view you as their primary, trusted partner • Renewals are proactive and predictable • Clear pipeline of expansion opportunities within existing accounts • Strong alignment between client expectations and delivery teams • You have pioneered and perfected an account management playbook for Astra’s enterprise clients that can be replicated for net new account management hires Ideal Candidate Profile Experience • 7–12 years in account management, client success, or partnerships roles at a marketing or digital agency • Experience managing enterprise clients, ideally within content, media, or marketing services • Background working with large, complex enterprise organizations • Proven track record of growing accounts through renewals and expansion • The ideal candidate will have fractional account management experience Capabilities • Strong commercial instincts - comfortable discussing scope, pricing, and value • Able to lead client conversations independently and drive outcomes • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and shaping loosely defined opportunities • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills • Demonstrated ability to balance client needs with business realities (margin, feasibility, delivery constraints) • Able to define playbooks and processes that will aid the organization in further scaling out the role.
