About the Role
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to recruit Finance AI Specialists for a high-impact project focused on developing finance-specific knowledge systems for advanced AI agents.
In this role, you will leverage your deep finance expertise and strong AI prompting skills to design structured guides, frameworks, and workflows that transform general-purpose AI models into domain-specialized financial assistants.
This project is ideal for professionals who are both finance experts and experienced AI users, comfortable designing, prompting, and refining intelligent systems. (Applicants without practical AI experience will not be a fit for this engagement.)
Eligible candidates must be based in the U.S., Canada, England, Australia, or New Zealand.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex financial concepts into AI-readable prompts and structured data.
- Design, test, and refine AI-driven workflows for investment, research, and transaction support.
- Develop templates, reusable prompt frameworks, and best practices for domain-specific performance.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers to validate results and enhance model reasoning.
- Contribute to improving how AI understands and applies financial logic across tasks.
3. Ideal Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in finance, investment banking, private equity, or hedge funds.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, transactions, and research workflows.
- Proven ability to prompt, test, and optimize AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar.
- Exceptional written communication and technical clarity when structuring instructions.
- Highly self-directed, organized, and capable of independent project execution.

- Hourly Rate: $100–$150 USD/hour (starting at the lower range with rapid progression to $150/hour for top performers).

- Autonomy: Contractors maintain full control over their schedule and methods.
